Amber Valley will once again be providing free parking, in all of its pay and display car parks in the week before Christmas. The free period will run from Sunday 18 December until Tuesday 27 December and is aimed at encouraging people to shop locally to support traders, and to provide further incentive to local residents.
This long running tradition is designed to attract additional Christmas trade to the Borough's four town centres. The Council is encouraging shoppers to take advantage of free parking which applies at all times of the day in Ripley, Heanor, Belper and Alfreton, and any of the Council's 32 Pay & Display car parks throughout the borough, in the run up to Christmas. Shoppers are reminded that other rules regarding parking in disabled parking bays and maximum stays will still apply.
Deputy Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council, Councillor Liz Bowley said: "We're aware how important Christmas trade is to local businesses, and we're pleased once again to be able to offer free parking benefit to shoppers in the run up to Christmas to help them and local traders which is especially important during such difficult economic times".
Free parking is valid Sunday 18 December until Tuesday 27 December inclusive. All our car parks are free on all UK Bank Holidays excluding Good Friday.
