Paint tin dumping leads to court fine

Amber Valley Borough Council has prosecuted a Duffield man who failed to prevent a large number of paint tins being dumped on an off-road route used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders, in Ripley.

Peter Marshall of Outrigger, Rigga Lane, Duffield pleaded guilty to the offence at Derby Magistrates Court on 1st May and was fined £500 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £50 and costs of £4,325.40.

The paint tins were found on Ripley Greenway around 3 November last year and caused considerable damage to the environment.
