Alfreton Indoor Market’s Prize Act

Generous traders at Alfreton Indoor Market freely contributed goods to a bumper hamper, which was used as first prize in the Christmas raffle, drawn by Town Mayor Cllr Marlene Bennett MBE on Monday.

Tickets were given to customers who spent £5 or more at any stall in the market. The idea became so popular that a second prize of a fruit and veg hamper was also donated by D J Rollo Fruit and Veg.

Portfolio Holder for Environment, Cllr David Wilson, said: ‘The winning and second prize tickets were drawn from hundreds placed in the hat. It was very exciting and such a generous gesture by the businesses in the market. This idea has made two customers very happy this Christmas.”

The Indoor Market has a full range of goods, you can pick up a late present or fresh produce right up until 2pm on Christmas Eve, and it’s open in between Christmas and New Year on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st December from 0830 – 1630.  From Saturday 2nd January, the market will resume normal opening days.
