Annual Civic Service 2015

Amber Valley Borough Council’s Annual Civic Service took place at the beginning of the month, hosted by the Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Trevor Ainsworth and Mrs Jennifer Ainsworth, at All Saints Church, Ripley.

Pictured are the Mayor and Mayoress with Vicar of All Saints, Reverend John Wigram. Representatives of Derbyshire Blood Bikes - one of the Mayor's Charities – were also present, along with Vice Lord- Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Colonel John S Wilson OBE and the High Sheriff of Derbyshire, Mr Oliver Stephenson.  Dignitaries from Ashfield, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Erewash, High Peak, N E Derbyshire and South Derbyshire Councils were also in attendance along with the four Town Mayors of Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley and Chairmen of local Parish Councils.

Kilburn Community Choir, incorporating the Mayor and Mayoress, performed during the Service.  Proceeds from the Collection were divided between All Saints Church and the Mayor’s Charities – Blend Youth Project (Charity number 1123171) and Derbyshire Blood Bikes (Charity number 1143149).
