See Ripley from a different perspective with a treasure hunt walking trail! Solve a series of clues to find the location of the hidden treasure (if there was any to find!).
The clues use monuments, plaques, buildings, signs and such like. The answers to those clues will be place names which you can find on the back cover of the trail. As you solve a clue, simply cross off the appropriate place on the map – and move on to the next clue following the directions or instructions given. You will be left with one place not crossed off – that is the location of the fictitious treasure.
Beth Turner, the Community Sports Activator for Amber Valley Village Games said “This trail is a fantastic way to get the whole family active whilst exploring the local area. You don’t need to be in a set place at a particular time to take part which will make it easier for families to build activity into their busy lifestyles”
The trail can be either downloaded from the Amber Valley Borough Council Website at www.ambervalley.gov.uk/puzzletrails or a paper copy can be obtained by contacting Beth on 07584904519 / beth@villagegames.org.uk.
Don’t forget to download the answer sheet at the same time - but don’t use it till after you’ve finished the trail!
Trails have also been produced for Alfreton, Belper and Heanor which have all been written by Puzzle Trails Ltd. These will be launched very soon so keep your eyes peeled.
