Dangerous Structures

Amber Valley Council has a duty under the Building Act 1984 to investigate any structure, public or privately owned, that is judged to be in a dangerous condition.

If you see a building that you believe to be in a dangerous state (anything from a loose tile to a dilapidated wall) then please report it to the Building Control Department.

One of our inspectors will visit and assess the danger, they will then find out who is the owner, contact them and make sure that they take the necessary steps to eliminate the danger.
