Missed refuse / recycling collections due to adverse weather
conditions or road closures
The Council will always try to collect refuse / recycling
waste on the dates listed in the collection calendar, but
adverse weather conditions or road closures may mean this is not
always possible. In these circumstances the Council will arrange
for the contractor to return within 48 hours, weather and road conditions
allowing.
If your refuse / recycling is not collected within 48 hours of
your scheduled collection date, due to reasons listed above,
please bring your bin or recycling containers back onto your
property until your next scheduled refuse or recycling collection
day.
On your next scheduled
collection day for refuse, you may do the following:
Refuse bins/purple sacks:
- Bin collection, place up to three refuse bags at the side
of your refuse bin
- Purple bag collection, place up to six bags out for
collection.
On your next scheduled
collection day for recycling, you may do the following:
Recycling containers:
- Place any extra recycling out in boxes (equivalent size to
the boxes/bags issued by the Council) or carrier bags. (Please do not use refuse bags, as
these will not be collected)
For regular updates during adverse weather conditions, please
refer to the front
page of the Council website, where you will
find the latest updates.
If you would like to know when your next waste and
recycling collection will be, please see our My Property page.
