Food Hygiene Rating Scheme

The Council was one of the first authorities to sign up for the national scheme introduced by the Food Standards Agency. The scheme was launched in Amber Valley on 1st December 2010.

The primary purpose of the scheme is to allow consumers to make imformed choices about the places they eat out at and from which they purchase food and to encourage businesses to improve hygiene standards.

Scores on the Doors

iPhone and Android phone users can now access FHRS ratings on the move. TransparencyData (TData) has now completed its work to re-configure the Scores on the Doors (SotD) app. The new 'Food Hygiene Standards' App allows users to search FHRS (and the Food Hygiene Information Scheme - FHIS- in Scotland) data.  The app can be downloaded free from i-Tunes or from the GooglePlay store.
