Plans unveiled for £2 million new sports and community centre in
Heanor
A vision for a new £2 million sports and community facility in
Loscoe, near Heanor, has moved a step closer.
Introduction
We provide, facilitate and support a wide range of physical
activity opportunities in Amber Valley, through sport, health and
social inclusion projects by working with local partners to develop
initiatives that have a positive impact on the wellbeing of the
community.
Village Games
Amber Valley is one of six districts in Derbyshire to have it's
own Village Games Co-ordinator.
The Village Games is a highly visible, accessible community
spirited sport project across rural Derbyshire. It uses inter
village competition, festivals and events to encourage people to
participate in sport and recreation. It is the catalyst to a
programme of club development, coach development and volunteer
recruitment, and builds village identity and social
interaction.

regular basis with people of similar fitness levels.
Jog
Derbyshire is establishing a network of community based jogging
groups in Amber Valley through which anyone who is new to jogging,
or has not run for a long time can be guided through a series of
jogging programmes led by a qualified Jog Derbyshire Leader.
