People wanting to learn more about proposals for a £65m mixed-use regeneration scheme at Cinderhill in Denby are being invited to an exhibition on Tuesday 14 November 2006.
Amber Valley Borough Council will be hosting the event at Denby’s John Flamstead School between 6pm and 9pm. Visitors will be able to learn about background to the proposals, which are contained in a planning application submitted to the Council by the Banks Group and the Commercial Estates Group.
During the exhibition, council staff will be available to answer questions and to give advice about how to:
- influence the outcome of the Cinderhill proposals ;
- make representations to the Council about the Cinderhill planning application; and
- make representations to the Council about the draft development brief for Cinderhill.
A representative from the Banks Group will also be on hand at the meeting to answer questions from members of the public.
The Cinderhill planning application, which is the largest ever to be submitted to the Council, is nine volumes long and was delivered on two trolleys. If approved, the Cinderhill scheme will provide :
- thirty hectares of employment land with an estimated 3,000 jobs for the area ;
- three hundred new homes ;
- community facilities including shops, a community centre and a pub-restaurant ;
- decontamination of the former tar pits on the site; and
The Cinderhill site at Denby Bottles is situated between the B6179 (Derby Road) and the A38 trunk road.
The Council will decide whether to grant planning permission for the Cinderhill proposals in early 2007.
