Amber Valley Borough Council’s Town Centre Office in Heanor will close for refurbishment on Friday 17 November at 4.30pm and re-open at 9am on Tuesday 28 November.
The office - which is based in Heanor Town Hall - was opened in 1995 and needs updating in order to comply with current legislation. As part of the refurbishment, the office counters will be lowered to provide improved access for wheelchair users and new glass screens will be fitted above the counters.
While Heanor Town Centre Office is closed, Council customers can settle bills in the following ways:
- paying by card by telephoning 01773 841345 or visiting www.ambervalley.gov.uk;
- paying by cash, cheque or card at one of the Council’s other town centre offices between 9am and 4.30pm on weekdays (the Alfreton office is on Rodgers Lane in Alfreton, the Ripley office is at the town hall on the Market Place in Ripley and the Belper Office is on King Street in Belper); or
- posting a cheque to Amber Valley Borough Council, PO Box 1, Town Hall, Ripley, Derbyshire, DE53WZ.
The Council accepts the following payment cards: Maestro, Delta, Visa Electron, JCB, Master Card, Visa and Solo.
Council customers who normally visit Heanor Town Centre Office to obtain information about services can telephone the Council Headquarters on 01773 570222 for information during the closure.
The Council’s Town Centre Offices in Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley offer a wealth of advice and information about Council services as well as the opportunity to make payments to the Council and have documents relating to some benefit claims checked. Visitors can also take advantage of a freephone link to the Council's headquarters in Ripley if staff at the offices are unable to help them. Each Town Centre Office has wheelchair access and induction loops for hearing aid users.
