Bonkers about Bookmarks
28 February 2007
An enormous display of bookmarks is set to go on show at the Borough Council’s Tourist Information Centre in Ripley.
The display - which forms part of a private collection of thirteen thousand bookmarks - includes examples from foreign countries and others dating back to the nineteenth century. Also on display are some local interest bookmarks including one from Waingroves School.
The free exhibition will be on display between Saturday 3 March and Saturday 31 March. The Tourist Information Centre is situated in the town hall on Ripley Market Place. The centre is normally open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 9.30am and 5.30pm, on Wednesdays between 10am and 5.30pm and on Saturdays between 9.30am and 3pm. On Wednesday 28 March, the centre will close at 4pm instead of 5.30pm.
