Nightreach
06 February 2007
Free multi-sports sessions for young people will be running in Alfreton, Langley Mill and Ripley until the end of March.
Sporting activities available during the evening sessions include football, basketball, hockey and kwik cricket. As well as providing sporting fun, the Nightreach scheme gives youngsters the chance to gain recognised sports leadership qualifications.
Delivered by Amber Valley Borough Council’s Sports Development Team, the Nightreach scheme is designed to boost the confidence of youngsters and keep them away from anti-social behaviour.
The Nightreach sessions in Alfreton, Langley Mill and Ripley are funded by the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership. Young people who want to take part can simply turn up at any of the sessions listed below:
- Alfreton - Miners’ Welfare Pitch (between Mortimer Wilson Secondary School and Alfreton Town Football Club), Wednesdays, 7pm - 9pm
- Ripley - Mill Hill School’s outdoor multi-user pitch, Thursdays, 7pm - 9pm
- Langley Mill - Queen Street Recreation Ground, Wednesdays, 7pm - 9pm
