Free Business Events

There is another exciting opportunity for anyone interested in running their own business to receive some help and advice. Anyone in Amber Valley who is considering running their own businesses can sign up for free ‘Starting in Business’ seminars.

Details of the dates and venues are listed below:

• Wednesday 25 April 2007 at the Lion Hotel on Bridge Street in Belper, 5:00 – 7:30pm;
• Wednesday 23 May 2007 at the Town Hall on the Market Place in Ripley, 5:00 – 7:30pm;

These seminars have proved very popular and have led to some notable successes. Too many aspiring businesses fail in the first two years because they have not thought through the range of issues that they need to be aware of before stepping out into running their own business. A little help on the way can only be a good thing.

During 2006/2007, the Council’s Business Skills Programme ran 23 business training events for a total of 195 delegates. As a result, twenty-six businesses have started and forty-four jobs have been created.
