Cinderhill Meeting Postponed to September

The special meeting of the Planning Board to determine the Cinderhill planning application scheduled for the 2^nd July has had to be postponed. Officers of the Council are still awaiting comments relating to transportation issues from the Highways Agency and Derbyshire County Council. As a result, officers are not in a position to prepare a recommendation. A revised date for the special meeting has been set as 17 September 2007.

Director of Borough Development Carl Whysall said “ This is the largest and most complex planning application received by the Council. It is critically important that all aspects are properly considered and that a fair and balanced recommendation is submitted to members before a decision is taken. The Council is still awaiting important comments relating to transportation issues. Until they are received, a recommendation cannot be prepared.”

The revised date of Monday 17 September is after the school holidays so that members of the public can address the Planning Board before a decision is taken. This will ensure that Members of the Planning Board listen to all sides and have as much information before them in coming to a decision. Further details of that meeting will be released nearer to the time but it is dependent upon full comments being received to enable a recommendation to be prepared.
