Heanor and Ripley Leisure Centres are calling for little splashers across Amber Valley to sign up to the most exciting water event of the year – the 2007 Splashathon, taking place on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th June at Ripley and Wednesday 20th June at Heanor, sponsored by Huggies Little Swimmers.
The Splashathon encourages babies, toddlers and young children to have fun and at the same time raise money by simply splashing a width or length of the pool. Tommy’s Charity is hoping the 2007 Splashathon event will be it’s most successful ever beating last year’s record breaking Splashathon which raised a magnificent £175,000 for the charity, which funds research into the causes of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.
Jenny Hedgcock, General Manager for Ripley Leisure Centre, says: “We are delighted to be supporting Tommy’s Splashathon for the seventh successive year. Splashathon is a fantastic, fun filled event, which encourages bonding between parent and child, as well as raising money for a truly worthwhile cause. This event is run by over 700 pools and swim schools and is great fun for the youngsters and parents alike.
Every little splasher taking part will receive a free pair of Huggies Little Swimmers. Splashers who raise £40 or more will win a fun prize and all participating pools will go into a draw to win £1000 worth of new pool equipment!
