Councillor Stephen Hayes, Deputy Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism, said: “The Pride of Place poll is a great way to find out more about Amber Valley’s most famous landmarks!
“We’re fortunate to have such a superb range of attractions here in the Borough and this poll is an opportunity for residents to show how proud they are of their local area. We hope lots of people will log on to our website, either at home or using the free Internet access available in their local library, and vote for their favourite place in Amber Valley.”
The poll is part of the Government’s nation-wide “Connect to your Council” campaign, which aims to encourage people to access their local authority services online anytime, anywhere to find out anything from planning information to applying for school places.
The Pride of Place poll can be accessed until 30 November 2007, after which the results will be released.
