“Welcome to Langley Mill and Aldercar”!

30 October 2007

Residents in Aldercar and Langley Mill are invited to have their say on how visitors should be welcomed to their towns!

Amber Valley Borough Council’s me&u Project Officer is working with Aldercar and Langley Mill Parish Council, the Bridge Centre Community Resource Centre and Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire to create an attractive gateway to the area.

Members of the public are now being invited to comment on the proposed schemes to enhance the main routes into Langley Mill and Aldercar. A choice of designs has been drawn up and people have a week to decide which scheme they prefer.

Stephen Hayes, Deputy Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism said “There are a number of locations along the route into Langley Mill from the A610 that have suffered from neglect and are now in need of attention. Creating an attractive scheme to improve the main routes into Aldercar and Langley Mill will help promote a positive image of the area, and encourage more visitors and investment to the area.”

These designs are available for viewing at the Bridge Centre, 43 Cromford Road, Langley Mill from Monday 5 November 2007 to Monday 12 November 2007, between 9.00am and 7.00pm. Please note the Bridge Centre is not open on Saturdays or Sundays.

Ends.
