Pottery exhibition at the Tourist Information Centre

26 November 2007

An exhibition of ‘Hand Thrown Pottery’ by Duffield potter Richard Pearson will be held at the Tourist Information Centre, Town Hall, Ripley from Tuesday 4 December 2007 until Wednesday 2 January 2008. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.

The exhibition will comprise a wide variety of functional pots such as tableware, jugs and casserole dishes and some interpretation material about firing and glazing techniques.

Richard, who set up his own pottery seven years ago, fires his pottery to stoneware temperatures using either an electric kiln, a woodfired kiln or a salt glazed kiln. Richard is a member of the Rufford Woodfiring Club and the Decorum and Chiltern Potters Group.
