Celebrate Christmas with Carols by Torchlight

03 December 2007

Come and join the Friends of Ripley Greenway for a ‘Carols by Torchlight’ event along the Greenway on Sunday 16 December 2007.

The event has been organised with support from Amber Valley Borough Council and promises to be an enjoyable festive experience for all the family. The carol-singing procession will start under the Nottingham Road Bridge along the Greenway at 4:30pm and progress along the Greenway by torchlight to the Lumb Farm Inn.

For those preferring a shorter walk the procession will stop at a mid-way pick-up point at the Peasehill Road entrance at about 5:15pm, setting off again at 5:30pm. Hot chocolate and other refreshments will be available at the end of the procession at the Lumb Farm Inn.

For the younger carol singers there will be a ‘Santa’s Little Helper’ fancy dress competition aimed at the under 12’s - we will be looking for elves, pixies and fairies to help make this event special… and they could even get a prize in the process!

Everybody is welcome – and don’t forget to bring a torch, woolly hat and gloves!

Ends.
