Christmas shoppers in Amber Valley will be able to park for free over the festive period in all Amber Valley Borough Council’s pay and display cark parks from Wednesday 19 December 2007 until Wednesday 2 January 2008 inclusive.
Councillor Stephen Hayes, the Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “We have some fantastic shopping opportunities in Alfreton, Belper, Ripley and Heanor, and we want to do all we can to encourage people to do their Christmas shopping here in Amber Valley. We hope that by offering shoppers free parking this festive season more people will be encouraged to shop locally, both in the run up to Christmas, and in the post-Christmas sales.”
Shoppers should note that all other car park regulations, including time restrictions, for example in short stay car parks, will still apply during the free parking period.
