Sports clubs take part in Borough’s first ever Clubs Roadshow
19 December 2007
Representatives from over twenty sports clubs based in Amber Valley took part in the first ever ‘Clubs Roadshow’ at Belper Town Football Club on 6 December.
The evening was organised by the Amber Valley Sport & Leisure Development Group and was open to all Amber Valley sports clubs. Those attending were able to take part in presentations on Funding Opportunities by Angela Quinn from Amber Valley CVS, School/Club Links by Paul Goodley from the Amber Valley School Sports Partnership and Club Mark by Gaz Buckley from Amber Valley Borough Council.
“The evening provided a great opportunity for clubs to take away some useful resources and find out about forthcoming courses and workshops that will be taking place in 2008” said Gaz Buckley, Sports Development Officer at Amber Valley Borough Council. “In addition, all clubs that attended were entered into a free prize draw to win £75 towards equipment for their club – the lucky winners were Ripley Savers Lifesaving Club who will use the money to buy training support materials for club trainers.”
Further Roadshows are scheduled to take place twice each year, with the next one likely to take place in June 2008. To find out more please contact Gaz Buckley on 01773 841443 or email gareth.buckley@ambervalley.gov.uk
