Visitor attractions receive promotional boost

25 February 2008

Tourist attractions in Amber Valley are celebrating after being awarded grants from the Borough Council to help them attract even more visitors!

Amber Valley Borough Council provided the grants to local organisations to assist in their publicity and promotional activities, such as organising events, printing leaflets and any other advertising.

The Mayor of Amber Valley, Councillor Peter Arnold, presented the organisations with their cheques at a special ceremony held at the Midland Railway in Butterley (the recent winner in the local Pride of Place Poll).

Councillor Stephen Hayes, Deputy Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council and Cabinet Member with responsibility for Tourism, said, “We’re delighted to support these organisations and help promote tourism in Amber Valley. We have a fantastic range of attractions here in the Borough that reflect the varied history and heritage of the area. Providing grants is one way of recognising the vital contribution each of these organisations plays in attracting visitors to Amber Valley.”
