Last year there were over 115,000 employment tribunal claims in Great Britain. Many of these arose from inadequately documented employment contracts and failure to follow proper employment procedures.
To help ensure local employers and businesses recognise the potential cost to their organisation of not following the correct procedures, Amber Valley Borough Council and ACAS are working together to provide a free training session on employing people.
“A lot of management time and anxiety can be saved if the proper procedures and good practices are followed,” said Jane Bexon, Enterprise Development Officer at Amber Valley Borough Council. “So if you or any of your staff are responsible for ensuring that your contracts of employment are up to date and issued to new employees on time, or for making sure that disciplinary issues and grievances are dealt with properly and promptly, then our ‘Employing People’ training session is a must.”
