Boost your business skills! That’s the message from Amber Valley Borough Council, which is now taking bookings for its free Business Skills Training Programme.
The programme, which is being provided in partnership with Business Link, offers practical assistance to help businesses develop and perform more effectively, and be more competitive.
Jane Bexon, Enterprise Development Officer at Amber Valley Borough Council said: “We are committed to supporting local businesses and helping them become more effective and successful. If you’re looking to start your own business, or have recently started in business in the Amber Valley area, and need some expert advice, come and take part in the free sessions we’re organising as part of our Business Skills Training Programme.”
After attending one of our previous programmes, Lynne Montgomery is getting ready to open her first business this spring. She said “After working for a bank for over 20 years I resigned in order to fulfil my dream of opening a shop in my home town of Ripley. Before I began the journey of making my dream a reality, I attended the Business Skills Training Programme last November. My shop, Scented Willow, will open in Ripley in the next few weeks, but I can honestly say I probably would have fell at the first hurdle had it not been for the help and advice I received. As a complete novice, the support structure provided by Business Link and Amber Valley Borough Council has been amazing, and I would encourage and recommend any one wishing to start a new business in our area to take advantage of this invaluable help.”
