The Pre-School based at William Gregg VC Leisure Centre in Heanor has passed its OFSTED inspection with flying colours.Inspectors were particularly impressed with the quality and standards of care and nursery education.
The Pre-School first opened in 1985 and is registered with Derbyshire Social Services with 24 places for children aged between two-and-a-half and five years.
Sue Straw, Pre-School Supervisor explained, “The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that our nursery education meets Government standards and is of an acceptable quality.I’m delighted that we have been given a ‘good’ rating, which is the second highest level of provision to be awarded. The high quality service we offer is a reflection of our staffs’ dedication, hard work and commitment to ensuring that we encourage the children to reach their full potential both in early learning subjects and social skills.”
The Pre-School is making good progress towards each of the early learning goals and the OFSTED inspector highlighted that the children were confident in making their own decisions, speaking in groups and had good levels of self esteem.Overall the good use of resources and strong relationships between staff and children is contributing towards positive personal, social and emotional development.
