Identichip your dog for free!
06 June 2008
Amber Valley Borough Council is promoting a scheme to ensure lost dogs are quickly and safely reunited with their owners.
The Council’s dog wardens will be at the Visitor Centre in Shipley Country Park on Tuesday 17 June 2008, offering dog owners the opportunity to have their dog identichipped completely free of charge.
“This is part of our ongoing initiative to promote responsible dog ownership” explained Dog Warden Jen Gdula. “Having your dog identichipped makes permanent identification simple. The process is quick and completely painless and involves implanting a microchip the size of a grain of rice. We carry scanners, and if we find a stray dog that’s been identichipped we can quickly and easily identify the owner. This means we can return your dog to you before you incur costly detention and kennelling fees - and it will probably save you lots of unnecessary worry.”
To take advantage of this free scheme simply bring your dog along to the Visitor Centre between 10.30am and 3.00pm. No appointment is needed.
