Local residents in Amber Valley are being asked to help Council officers assess future housing needs in the Borough.
During July Amber Valley Borough Council is carrying out a housing needs survey. Questionnaires will be sent to 4,000 randomly selected households throughout the Borough, including owner occupiers, housing association tenants and tenants of private landlords.
Councillor Norman Bull, Cabinet Member for Well-Being at Amber Valley Borough Council said: “We hope the survey will give us a comprehensive picture of current and future housing needs in Amber Valley. We will use the information to help us plan ahead and ensure that housing is of the right type and size, and in the right locations, to meet current and future housing needs. It will also provide evidence to back the Council’s bid for Government funding.”
Questionnaires will be sent to households on the 9th July 2008 with a request for completion by the 30th July 2008. All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and the Council will not be able to identify individual people or properties from the data supplied.
David Couttie Associates (DCA), an independent company specialising in housing research, has been commissioned to carry out the survey. Residents who would like more information on completing the questionnaires should contact the DCA Research team on freephone 0800 169 7865. The results from the survey will be available later in the year and will be posted on the Council’s website at www.ambervalley.gov.uk
Ends.
