Local authority members of Unison are taking part in industrial action on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 17 July 2008.
Amber Valley Borough Council will make every effort to ensure that any disruption to services is kept to a minimum throughout the two days.
Refuse collections
There will be no disruption to our refuse collections on either Wednesday or Thursday.
Council offices
The Council offices at Ripley will remain open during the two days of strike action. Both our main reception and switchboard are open, although there may be a limited service, depending on the number of calls we receive. Unfortunately we are currently not able to deal with any housing benefit or council tax queries.
Our planning reception, also based in the Council offices, will be open to deal with any planning related issues, including building regulations and planning permission and policy.
Our four town centre offices in Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley will be closed on both days, as will our Tourist Information Centre in Ripley Market Place.
The Amber Valley Register Office, based in Ripley Town Hall, will be closed on both days, although the marriage ceremonies planned for 17 July will go ahead as planned. Anyone wishing to register a death is advised to contact their funeral director who will advise them accordingly.
Leisure services
The Borough’s four leisure centres at Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley will be open as usual during the two days of strike action.
