Safety Checks Reveal High Taxi Standards
09 March 2010
Spot checks on Taxis in Amber Valley have produced results that have pleased Borough Council officials.
Recent multi-agency enforcement checks involving VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency), Derbyshire Police and Amber Valley Borough Council resulted in a total of 37 vehicles being checked and only two prohibition notices issued.
These safety checks are to be carried out on a more regular basis in the interests of public safety.
Commenting on the result of the recent checks, The Chairman of Amber Valley Borough Council’s Licensing Board, Councillor Alan King, said: “We are very pleased that so many vehicles passed this inspection, it is a credit to the local trade that vehicles are maintained to such a high standard."
