Description of service

Council Tax has been in place since April 1993 as a means of raising local revenue to partly fund the cost of providing services in Amber Valley. Approximately 40% of all local authorities spending in this area is provided by Council Tax; the other 60% is provided from Central Government Sources, including a National Non-Domestic Rate reimbursement.

There are currently around 53,000 Council Tax payers and 3,600 Non-Domestic Rate (Business rate) payers in Amber Valley.
