As part of the councils financial procedures all rate payers who for whatever reason have overpaid their business rates and have a credit shown on their rate account would be entitled to a refund of that credit.
The Business Rates Section does try to make sure that all businesses do receive any credits they are entitled too, but in some cases ratepayers do not claim their refund.
Attached is a link of credits (click on List of current accounts in credit below)for Business Rates as at 08 July 2010 (a new list will be produced monthly).
If you have run a business in Amber Valley Borough Council (for which you received a Business Rate bill) you may have a credit left on your account.
Please check the list and if you think your business is one shown please contact the Business Rates Section on 01773 841444 to discuss this.
Please note that you will need to be able to prove your were the ratepayer at the time before any details/refunds are given/issued.
