Derby Housing Market Area Call for Employment Sites June 2009
Important opportunities for people who own land
We are looking for someone who may own land or act as an agent for a client who owns land in the Derby Housing Market Area (HMA).The HMA covers the local planning authority areas of Amber Valley Borough Council, Derby City Council and South Derbyshire District Council. This exercise is intended to assist the three local authorities in preparing planning policies for inclusion in their Local Development Frameworks.
We need to ensure that sufficient land of the right quality will be made available to meet the economic needs of the HMA, the boundary of which is shown on the attached map.An important step in working towards this goal is the identification of all land and buildings in the area with potential for employment development including offices, industry, warehouse and distribution, retail, leisure and tourism uses.We are therefore asking you to help us by providing information about any sites that you may be aware of.All options, including both new and redevelopment sites and land with a current planning status for employment or other uses, will be considered.
Please be aware that no conclusions have yet been drawn about the need for further employment land or what the final strategies will be.The assessment doesn’t guarantee a site’s inclusion in local planning authority development plans or mean that planning permission will be granted. Each site will be assessed taking account of the economic needs of the area and any constraints, including the likely impact of development on the environment and other planning considerations.
Action required
If you wish to identify a site or building please complete a copy of the attached form.Substantial, detailed surveys beyond the information requested on the form are not needed at this stage. More than one proposal can be submitted for consideration but a separate form should be submitted for each site, accompanied by a plan on an Ordnance Survey base showing its exact location clearly identified in red.
Completed forms should be returned, together with the location plan, by Friday 24th July 2009.Please send these either by email: Stephen.Jackson@ambervalley.gov.uk or by post to:
