Validation of Planning Applications (From 6th April 2008)
The Government has changed the system for validating (registering) planning and related applications. The revised proposals will require all applications to provide a core and mandatory list of information known as the "National" Requirements and such further information defined in a "Local" Requirements list.
Following a consultation exercise the Council adopted the following Local Requirements on the 25th February 2008.
Applications will need to provide all of the information contained in the National Planning Requirements and all relevant information identified from the Local Planning Application Requirements. Justification will be needed where information is not provided against the Local list requirements.
Failure to supply the required information with your planning application will result in your planning application not being validated. If you are in doubt about the need for any particular requirement consult the Councils Duty Planning Officer. Pre application discussion is recommended to avoid undue delay.
Period for Validation
You should expect to receive confirmation that your application is valid as follows
- Minor/Other applications within 3 working days from receipt
- Small Scale Major applications within 5 working days from receipt
- Large Scale Major within 10 working days from receipt
