Description of service

Amber Valley Borough Council is responsible for the determination of the majority of planning applications in the Borough.

Derbyshire County Council is responsible for applications concerning Waste and Minerals proposals.

If you want information about or comment on planning applications submitted to or decided by the Borough Council apply to the Borough Council for planning permission.

Notice Of Changes To Permitted Development Rights For Householders.

From 1st October 2008 new legislation will relate to proposals for:

Household extensions

Dormer Windows

Alterations to existing roofs

Structures within the dwelling curtilage

Hard standing and driveways

Chimneys, flues, soil and ventilation pipes

Antennas

If you are carrying out works after the 1st October 2008 you are advised to contact the planning office before making a start.

Boundary Disputes

Members of the public are advised that boundary issues/disputes with neighbouring properties are not dealt with by the Local Authority’s Planning section.
