Garden Waste Collections
Background to the Scheme
The Garden Waste Scheme was introduced in 2008 as a direct response to resident's requests for a service. The scheme is a voluntary subscription scheme that covers the whole Borough of Amber Valley. Offering this scheme on a subscription basis is the fairest way of providing the service for those residents who need it, without increasing the Council Tax burden for all.
We have collected just over 2081 tonnes of garden waste since the start of the scheme in May 2008 until March 2010! We would like to thank all of the residents that have supported the scheme so far. There is a graph available for you to download as a PDF to show you how much waste we collected throughout the year.
Joining the Garden Waste Scheme
The Council regrets that it is currently unable to accept any new customers for its garden waste collection service. The service will therefore be limited to the existing 3,800 customers but residents can register on a ‘waiting list’. The service will be offered to those on the waiting list as and when spaces become available.
Please accept the Council’s apology for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you would like to take part in the scheme then please contact us using the details below and you will be placed on the waiting list.
