The Electoral Administration Act 2006 introduced, amongst other things, a requirement that each authority must undertake a review of its polling districts and polling places every four years, the first one of which must be completed by 31 December 2007.
The Council is required to actively seek representations both from electors and from persons as it thinks have particular expertise in relation to access to premises and facilities for persons who have different forms of disability.
Whilst the review has to be completed by 31 December 2007, in practical terms, the review report must be considered by the Council before that date, in order for any changes to be made to the Register of Electors which is published on 1 December 2007.
A copy of the timetable for the review is available on this page.
A notice of the holding of the review is attached as a link to this page whiich gives advice on how representations should be made.
