Cabinet Meetings

The Cabinet comprises 7 members. Each member has special responsibilities allocated to them e.g. Health, Safety & Housing; Clean and Green; Personnel and Performance; Leisure Development; Regeneration; Policy, Corporate and Financial Matters; and Information and Benefits.

The Cabinet meets in public approximately every six weeks at the Town Hall, Ripley commencing at 7pm. Its meetings are open to the press and public. The press and public are excluded, however, when the Cabinet consider confidential or exempt information. All decisions made by Cabinet are published on the web site, usually two days after each meeting.

Residents and organisations of the Borough are encouraged to attend Cabinet Meetings and ask questions. Cabinet Question Time is held at the beginning of each Cabinet meeting (from 7pm until 7.30pm) when questions and comments are considered and petitions presented on matters dealt with by the Cabinet (this excludes for example planning and licensing matters). Questions and comments may be submitted in writing, by fax or by e-mail to the Chief Executive by 5pm on the day before the day of the Cabinet Meeting. You may ask a question at the meeting without giving notice, although you may not receive a response at the meeting. You will however be sent a written response.
