Community Safety
Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership recognises the imapct that crime and the fear of crime can have upon the quality of our lives. Although Amber Valley is a relatively low crime area our partners are committed to improving the safety of the Borough.
The Partnership is made up of Derbyshire Police, Fire and Rescue Service, Derbyshire County Council, Amber Valley Borough Council and the Primary Care Trust working together and with other partners to tackle crime and the fear of crime in Amber Valley.
All members of the Community Safety Partnership share a commitment to reducing crime and disorder in Amber Valleym and work closely together to ensure that we make a positive impact on making the borough a safer place to live, work and visit.
For 2005-8, the Community Safety Partnership has identified the following as strategic priorities, requiring attention by all partnership agencies:
- Anti-Social Behaviour
- Domestic Burglary
- Vehicle Crime
- Violent Crime
The following cross-cutting issues have also been identified as requiring partnership attention:
- alcohol misuse
- drug abuse
- prolific and priority offenders
