Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is the enforcing authority for fire safety legislation within the Amber Valley area. The Council supports this work during its workplace safety inspections checking that basic fire safety provisions are in place.
Most workplaces have a legal obligation to perform a fire risk assessment. The government department for communities and local government provides a series of guides that will provide further information to assist in carrying out a fire risk assessment.
