Best Value Performance Plan:
From April 2008, the Council was no longer required to produce a Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP). However, to meet the requirement to publish the Council's Best Value Performance Indicators the Council published one final plan for 2008/09. This is a shortened version of previous plans.
Internal and external organisation performance reviews:
Details of how the Council has performed in each of its service areas are published in the Corporate Improvement Plan 2007/08. This is the draft for 2009/12
Performance Reports, when due, are submitted to Cabinet Briefings for scrutiny.

Economic Development Action Plan:
The Council's economic development focus is on business support services, maximising funds for regeneration and co-ordinating inward investment and development. The Amber Valley Partnership has produced a Regeneration Strategy which is a long term strategy setting out a framework for growth from 2005 to 2015.
Forward Plan:
The Forward Plan is a list of key decisions that the Cabinet expects to take in the near future. The Forward Plan is updated following the closure of the call-in period after each Cabinet meeting and can be accessed from the homepage on this website.
Capital Strategy:
The Capital Programme and other financial information can be found in the Publication Scheme under the class What we spend and how we spend it.
Best Value Performance Indicators:
In April 2008, the Government replaced Best Value Performance Indicators with a new performance framework. This includes a new set of National Indicators that are more focused on outcomes and improvements in public services that people can easily recognise.

Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA:
The Council's performance and the services it provides to local people is assessed by the Audit Commission A CPA enables the Council to focus on improvement by setting targets and by monitoring achievements against those targets. Local Area Agreements:
A Local Area Agreement is an agreement between the government and a partnership of local, public and voluntary organisations led by the County Council. It sets out a range of improvement targets aimed to help partners concentrate on working to achieve their top priorities and to make a real difference for local people.
Derbyshire County Council, with its partners, had to negotiate and agree with the Government Office for the East Midlands (GOEM) the 35 priority indicators and targets for inclusion in the Derbyshire Local Area Agreement 2008-2011.

Impact assessments:
An equality impact assessment is a tool/process that enables the Council to check out how an existing service or policy or a new service or policy affects its residents and staff. It can help staff provide and deliver excellent services to residents by making sure that these reflect the needs of the community. Impact Assessments will be published on this website at a later date.
Service standards:
The Council has set a number of service standards to ensure it provides a quality service to its customers. Details of the services standards, the Local Government Ombudsman and the Standards Board for England are available on the Compliments and Complaints page on this website.
Standards Committee:
The main role of the Standard Committee is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct amongst members of the Borough Council and members of Parish Councils in the Borough. A leaflet and complaints form can be downloaded from the Standards Committee webpage.
