Description of service

The railway is a very pleasant 3.5 mile ride through a rural part of East Derbyshire.The Midland Railway-Butterley comprises of a large number attractions including a large railway museum, a 35 acre Country Park, Brittain Pit Farm Park, Demonstration Signal Box and Victorian Railwaymans Church, all of which are open every day. Trains operate every weekend, school holidays and other specific times, for further information telephone 01773 570140. The Narrow Gauge Golden Valley Light Railway and the Butterley Park Miniature Railway both operate most weekends during the summer. For further information click here
