After the huge success of last years Amber Valley Sports Awards this years nomination forms are now available.
This years nominations need to have been received by August 20th 2010 to the contact details on the form. The forms can be downloaded on the Amber Valley Borough Council website and either posted or submitted electronically.
The awards evening will be held at Alfreton Leisure Centre on Friday September 3rd. This year tickets will be available to purchase for any additional family members or friends who wish to attend.
Last years nominations were of such a high calibre that six Amber Valley Sports Awards winners got through to the Derbyshire Sport County Awards, held at Pride Park in November. The six finalists were:
David Ellis (Swimming) Runner Up - Disability Sportsperson of the Year
Hannah Jones (Snooker) Winner - Junior Sportswoman of the Year
Tim Barlow (Hockey) Runner Up - Performance Coach of the Year
Alan Poplar (Cricket) Runner Up - Service to Sport
Kathy Hardy (Various) Runner Up - Contribution to School Sport
Belper U18 Hockey Team, Winners - Team of the Year
Of the six nominated two won their category outright and four were runners up which is a fantastic achievement for Amber Valley sport.
If you require a paper based copy to put forward a nomination you can get one of these from your local leisure centre or the reception area at Town Hall, Ripley.
