Landscape Services manage playgrounds throughout the borough. Amber Valley Housing Ltd also manage play areas on their land.

We are now well into the process of redeveloping three play areas with Play Builder funding. The funding has been administered through Derbyshire County Council from Play England, each play area received £50,000, but two of the projects, Ironville and Lockton Avenue have been topped up with section 106 funding from Amber Valley Borough Council. The projects are due to start as follows: - High Meadow Close, Ripley - Natural Play Area - Start week commencing 29th March to be completed by April 30th
- Ironville Recreation Ground - Traditional Play - Due to start before the end of April to be completed by May 31st
- Lockton Avenue Play Area, Heanor - Natural Play Area -Due to start before the end of April for completion by May 31st.
