Amber Valley Tourism assists with the development and promotion of Amber Valley, the Heart of Derbyshire as a visitor destination. Working in partnership, projects involve local accommodation proprietors, attraction operators and a large number of individuals and organisations. A range of brochures and promotional material is distributed throughout the Country and overseas. The area has a wealth of visitor attractions many of which have a background rich in history and heritage. The Derwent Valley Heritage Way follow the route of the River Derwent linking the built and natural environment and in 2001 much of the area was designated a World Heritage Site in recognition of the importance of industrial sites and settlements. Internationally recognised attractions include Crich Tramway Village, the Midland Railway - Butterley and Denby Pottery Visitor Centre.
