Description of service

Home Security

There are several steps that we can all take to improve the security of our homes and reduce the likelihood of being burgled. Please click on the links opposite for further information.

Alternatively, contact your local Police Crime Reduction Officer for further information on making your home secure. Telephone Derbyshire Police on 0845 123 33 33 and ask to speak to your local officer.

Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership has also run initiatives and campaigns to improve the security of residents of Amber Valley, including:

- distributing Homeguard alarms to vulnerable residents across the borough

- providing free lightbulbs and light timers to vulnerable local residents

- distributing PIR security lights to vulnerable people across the borough

- carrying out high profile 'Lock Up' campaigns in the 4 town centres of Amber Valley.

We have identified tackling domestic burglary as a priority within the 2005-8 Community Safety Strategy, and we recognise that it is a crime that people from Amber Valley worry about. We are committed to working in partnership to tackle domestic burglary.
