Description of service

Parking

The Council operates a permit scheme for town centre employees and eligible town centre residents which entitles the holder to park in any long stay car park. The charges are shown on this page under Charges.

Application Process

Please contact the Council's Call Centre where the operator will take some personal details and post out to you a short application form. You will need to complete sections 2 and 3 of the application form and return it to the address at the top of the form together with payment and eligibility.

Your application will be considered and a permit will be posted to you by recorded delivery. If your application is unsuccessful we will return your payment together with an explanation as to why your application was unsuccessful.

Conditions of Use

The permit may be used on any of the following car parks:

Alfreton
Rodgers Lane (West)

Belper
Field Lane
Green Lane
Shortlands

Heanor
Whysall Street (West)
Ilkeston Road
Bircumshaw's Road
Wilmot Street

Ripley
Moseley Street
Shirley Road
Slack Lane
Town Hall (Saturday Only)
Wellington Street

Please ensure the permit is displayed in a clear and prominent position, preferably using the provided holder. A maximum of two vehicle registration numbers are allowed on each permit.The permit does not guarantee the holder a parking space or priority over any other customer.The permit is only valid in long stay car parks (colour coded as BLUE), this is signposted under the main information board at the entrance to the car parks.

Should the details of your permit change (i.e. change of vehicle) a replacement can be obtained for the fee shown under Charges.
Should you be unable to display the permit (i.e. lost or damaged) a normal pay and display ticket must be purchased until a replacement permit is issued. Replacement permits may be obtained via this office for the fee shown under Charges.
It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure that the permit is renewed.

Should the Community Car Parking officer find the permit is being misused or has been tampered with in any way an Excess Charge Notice will be issued, if the problem persists the permit will be withdrawn

  • 12 Month Permit £225.00
  • Replacement Permit £5.00

Service Standards

Permit applications will be considered within 5 working days of receipt of application and payment.
