Street Lighting and Pavements

Street Lighting

Derbyshire County Council provides and maintains street lamps and illuminated signs. Street light faults should be reported to Derbyshire County Council's call centre on 01629 533190.  All street lights have a unique identifying number on the lighting column, it helps the call centre staff if you can quote the identification number and also provide important details to identify the correct location of the street light.

Derbyshire County Council are committed to keeping its pavements free of obstruction or nuisance to its users. To try to achieve this, public highways are inspected regularly. The Council tries to balance the street scene and the needs of the public, including those with visual or mobility difficulties, when assessing the degree of obstruction or nuisance.  Contact Derbyshire County Council on 01629 533190 to report a fault with a pavement.

Dropped Kerbs

If you wish to install or discuss a dropped kerb, then contact our Planning team first on 01773 841571 to find out if the road is classified.  From there you will be advised to contact Derbyshire County Council on 08456 058 058 for an information pack.
