Shop watch

With Coronavirus (COVID-19) now affecting many areas of our services to the residents and businesses of Amber Valley, we are keen to keep you right up-to-date with the changes we are being forced to make. Read more about your council services.

Derbyshire Police and the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership are continuing to work together to target retail crime, which can be a significant cost to the local economy. Shoplifting has risen in Amber Valley over the last few months by 16%, compared to the same period last year, and we want to put a stop to this trend.

Amber Valley Shop Watch scheme is getting well established, with many businesses now members, and those arrested for shoplifting may not only face a criminal prosecution but also an Amber Valley Shop Watch six-month ban, from more than 60 shops across the Amber Valley area.
