Heanor Test Town - New Date

The Heanor Traders Association has taken the decision to change the date of the Test Town event on Heanor Market Place from the 17th October to the 14th November.

Chair of the HTA and joint owner of the Olive Tree, Paul Taylor, commented:

“While we don’t want to mess people around, this new date gives the business entries as much time as possible to take advantage of the support available and develop their ideas in time for the event.

“Young people are only now just returning to schools, colleges and universities and starting to think about their futures.  This event will give them a real chance to put their business ideas into practice.  We will be choosing the best business idea at the event and putting it forward to the national competition where it will have a chance of winning £10,000.  They will be representing the local area as well as themselves and we want them to have the best chance as possible to win that prize.

“We are working with Amber Valley Borough Council to give the young people as much support as possible running up to the event on the 14th November.  They will get time to sit down with a professional business advisor to develop their business idea and will get £50 to produce materials to promote their business.  I would advise anyone who has just started a business or has a business idea that they have not yet acted on to get in touch with the HTA as soon as possible and take advantage of this opportunity while it is still available.”
